Baylor Volleyball Has Four Chosen for All-Conference

IRVING, Texas – The Baylor volleyball team had four players named to All-Conference Teams for the Big 12, announced by the league on Tuesday.

Senior outside hitter Elise McGhee was chosen unanimously for First Team All-Big 12, finishing the regular-season with 395 kills and a hit percentage of .238. She also served up 37 aces and put up 53 blocks. The San Antonio native earned Offensive Player of the Week for the Big 12 at the beginning of November, and recorded her 1000th career kill and 60th career ace this season. McGhee has recorded six double-doubles this season and four matches with 20 or more kills.

Named Second Team All-Big 12 were Jackie Barrett Frazier, Lauren Briseño and Allie Sczech.

Barrett Frazier, a graduate student setter, has dished out 849 assists so far this season. She became the first player in the Big 12 with a triple double since 2022, putting up 10 kills, 16 digs and 23 assists against Iowa State (10/30). She was the first Baylor player to do so since 2009. She’s had 17 double-doubles so far this season. The California native has led the team in aces six times this season, serving up 24 so far.

Briseño, the Bears’ libero, has led the team in digs 24 times this season and in aces eight times. She recorded her 80th career ace this season and joined the top-five career rally-scoring service aces for Baylor. She continues to rise the ranks in career digs as she recorded her 1,000th this year, with 438 so far this season through 29 matches. The San Antonio senior had her first two double-doubles this season with assists and digs, and has had five matches with 20 or more digs.

Sczech, an opposite hitter, has been breaking career records in her junior season, recording a high of 16 kills on 50 attempts against Minnesota on Sept. 6. She’s had 10 matches this season with double-digit kills and currently boasts a hit percentage of .253. The Sugarland, Texas, native has 235 kills so far this season at 2.3 per set, also putting up 62 blocks.

The Bears will host Wofford on Thursday in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament, first serve set for 7 p.m. CT at the Ferrell Center.
