Baylor MT Welcomes Seven Schools for ITA National Indoor Championship
WACO, Texas – The city of Waco continues to be the Home of College Tennis as it prepares to host the first and second rounds of the ITA National Indoor Championship with seven teams from across the nation making their way to Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center from February 14-16.
The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced on Monday afternoon how the 16-team field will be split between the two host schools of Baylor and SMU. Coming to Waco will be Columbia, Duke, Ohio State, San Diego, Stanford, TCU and UCF.
This will be the first year that the ITA has fragmented the tournament into a co-hosting situation. The new regional hosting format will see play split between two host schools within 200 miles of each other with the aim of enhancing the in-person viewing experience, the student-athlete experience and the broadcast production throughout the entire event. Baylor will split the first round, quarterfinal and back draw matches at the Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center.
Baylor men’s tennis currently prepares for Friday’s matchup against No. 15 San Diego on Friday, Jan. 31, at 6 p.m. CT at Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center.
