Baylor Center Josh Ojianwuna Suffers Season-Ending Injury

Baylor junior center Josh Ojianwuna has suffered a season-ending injury, according to social media.

Five minutes into Saturday’s 91-76 win over UCF, Ojianwuna hauled in a pass but awkwardly fell to the ground and immediately reached for his left knee.

Ojianwuna has been playing some of the best basketball of his career over the last month. He has played in 23 games this season, scoring 7.4 points and collecting 6.4 rebounds per game while shooting 77% from the field.

Saturday’s contest was the first time since Dec. 31 that Baylor had eight of its leading rotation players healthy. It’s been a revolving door of injuries for head coach Scott Drew’s squad as guards Jeremy Roach (5Sr.), VJ Edgecombe (Fr.), Langston Love (RFr.), as well as forward Jalen Celestine (Sr.) have all missed time.

Drew must now guide his team across the final stretch of conference play without the team’s starting center.
