Postgame Podcasts & Thoughts: No. 6 Houston 76, Baylor 65

No. 6 Houston (20-4, 12-1) defeats Baylor (15-9, 7-6), 76-65, at the Fertitta Center in Houston. Next up for the Bears is a homestand Saturday/Monday against West Virginia and Arizona.

Positives

  • Baylor shot it well 22-38 (58%), 9-15 from 3 (60%) and 12-16 from the free throw line (75%).
  • It's good to see Langston Love (RJr.) producing as we expected in the last two games (15 points on seven shots).
  • After a rocky start, VJ Edgecombe (Fr.) ended up with 14 points on five shots, six rebounds and three assists.

Concerns

  • Baylor turned it over 15 times with a guard-oriented attack, which needs to be a strength.
  • They didn’t turn UH over (7); Baylor has to be a tough perimeter defensive team because the Bears will give up a lot of easy buckets.
  • I never felt like Baylor wanted the fight. Maybe it is a tough road game in February, but I didn’t like the body language and energy tonight.

We had one day to adjust to no center.

We missed 4 layups and had a ton of turnovers. Those two things can be fixed
