Andre Iguodala II, a 6-foot-6 forward in the 2025 recruiting class, has committed to head coach Scott Drew and Baylor and becomes the second incoming freshman, joining five-star wing Tounde Yessoufou.

The Link Academy product is the son of Andre Iguodala — a four-time NBA champion, 2015 Finals MVP and 19-year NBA Veteran.

Iguodala is rated as a three-star prospect and the No. 197 overall recruit in the 2025 recruiting class, according to On3.

Ok, for all of you whining about the 1 year guys. Here's your potential multi-year guy and certainly comes from excellent basketball heritage!

Excited to see Andre II sign with us!

Big fan of this signing. Hopefully he'll stick around and get developed. We need more of those kinds of guys in our program.

Hard to get excited about developmental players who will probably leave anyway. Hopefully something changes with transfer portal rules and our program's NIL structure and approach.

My oldest son works for Kanakuk (Link Academy location in Branson) and says he is a great kid. He was thrilled we got him.

It's harder to get excited about a program devoid of these types of guys.

You can't control whether guys stay and get developed. But you can guarantee that won't happen by taking nothing but one-year players.

I'm glad we've added a few guys who could potentially make up a returning core for the 2026-27 season (and beyond in Iguodala's case), even if there are no guarantees that it plays out that way.

I hope we round out our transfer class with a couple more of them.

One under-discussed aspect of this signing is having Andre Iguodala around our program, which is pretty cool.

Hopefully some of his toughness and defensive intensity will rub off on our team by osmosis.

I've been a bit skeptical of the osmosis thing since college: carrying those books around didn't make me any smarter.

The son of a 19 year NBA veteran does not need to jump at a few more NIL dollars. That is small potatoes to what his family already has. Hopefully, he and his family are more interested in him staying where he can develop into the best man he can be.

New recruiting strategy maybe?

Taking sons of rich retired veterans?

Wheres Shawn Kemp?

We only have 12 spots on the roster.

Actually NCAA is allowing up to 15 scholarships for mbb next year. Wonder if anyone comes close.

I was just making a joke about how many kids Shawn Kemp has.

Yes. Elon could fill up a football team. Not necessarily a good one.

I actually have been accused of being a sunshine pumper. But what I am is a realist. I hope we return to the player development philosophy of the 2010s but I will believe it when I see it.
