Welcome to the 2025 post-week 7 edition of the SicEm365 Premium “Big 12 Power Poll”. Over the last few days, the awesome members of our Premium Forums had access to a simple form to rank the football teams of the Big 12 however they saw fit heading into week 8 of the 2025 season.

Here are the results:

The biggest mover this week was Utah who returned to second place in the Big 12, a jump of six spots. This was in large part thanks to a dismantling of a Sam Leavitt-less Arizona State. That jump also seems to speak to people’s lingering doubts about the upstart Cincinnati squad at No. 4 and the largely untested BYU team at No. 3.

Kansas State was the only other team to move up multiple spots as they continue their climb back from No. 13 in week four. The Wildcats are almost back in the top half of the conference, sitting at No. 9.

The biggest fallers were Arizona State and Kansas, who were beaten by the now No. 2 and No. 1 teams, respectively. That makes the drops seem harsh to me, but in such a tightly contested conference, it makes decent sense.

Not to be forgotten, the Baylor Bears moved up a slot on their bye week with Iowa State stumbling to Colorado and TCU losing to Kansas State (who Baylor just survived). With the back half of the season underway tomorrow, can the Bears push back into the top five and get into the Big 12 Championship game conversation?

Also, if you’re someone who likes to dabble in simple statistics, I pulled the min, max and mode for each team. That is the top rank, bottom rank and most common ranking. I did not remove the top 5% and bottom 5% of placements for best, worst and most common here (but I did for the average rank, so sorry for any confusion).

This week's total responses fell to 34 from 43 last week, so keep that in mind as you peruse the data.

For first-place votes, Texas Tech was nearly a unanimous No. 1 if not for a single vote for Utah at the top.

Normally, this is where I make some comment about comparing the teams’ best and worst rankings — which is still fun — but the most common ranking is interesting as well. The top six teams in the poll match where the majority of people placed them, which is not as common as you would think. The Kansas Jayhawks also notably finished in 12th despite most people placing them in 10th. Respondents were rather stratified on where to place the Jayhawks.

Now, if you want even more numbers, I’ve got them. How about the differences between the post-week 5 rankings and the post-week 6 rankings?

With all of those numbers and charts and graphs provided to you, where do you draw the lines for tiers in the Big 12? Which teams are the premium members underestimating or overestimating currently?

One last question: how did the staff of SicEm365.com do with their rankings this week? Below is the full breakdown of our individual responses to the poll.

Let us know what you think in the comments, and for you premium members, look out for the next Big 12 Power Poll on Sunday, October 19th!
