It doesn't matter, President already stated Dave isn't going anywhere. As much as she tried to sprayed perfume on a pile of dog ****, it's still *****

365 should focus resources on other sports right now.

I think the reasoning it's simpler than most people do.

They just really wish, hope, pray and believe it will work. They want that so bad, they just can't not believe in it. The AD situation gives them a mulligan year for Aranda to prove he's a great coach. I don't even think the money thing was that huge an issue. Just my gut feeling.

They probably didn't count on Saturday's outcome making it look worse, but they are dug in. Losing at home this week would really be tough, but I don't think it changes their stance.

The offseason will be really interesting.

Not sure I agree with that.

As Kevin Costner says in the movie Draft Day - "We live in a different world than we did just 30 seconds ago."

I absolutely believe that Saturday's outcome could potentially change things.

Not saying it will for certain, but an embarrassing loss to end the season at 5-7 and miss a bowl altogether could completely change the landscape.

Now, I do believe that if we win, Aranda very likely stays.

However, if we lose (and particularly if we lose in a manner that resembles these last two weeks), then I could see some VERY disgruntled folks in high-up places being ticked off enough to suggest that an emergency meeting take place.

It happens.

Lefty Linda's reputation took a big hit when the person brought in to end athletic scandals was the source of the new scandal.

If she has to backtrack on Aranda a mere two weeks after pledging his return, her reputation would be further shattered.

She will ride out this storm she created because trying to change directions will get her crucified.

There is ABSOLUTELY an OUT for all involved, if it comes to that.

I've learned over time to pay VERY CLOSE attention to how things are worded.

For those who didn't read the letter thoroughly, one thing is clearly missing:

There is no mention of 2026.

While there is mention of Aranda being retained in the letter, it is somewhat vague, as it didn't specifically state that he would be retained for the 2026 SEASON.

If things get bad enough, you can easily say that he was just being retained for the time being, and not necessarily for the upcoming season.

As I mentioned - If we beat Houston, then Aranda probably stays.

But if things go south on Saturday, then I wouldn't be surprised one bit if we pull a 180 and change course.

And all you'd have to do is go back to how that letter was worded.

Sure……that is exactly how the media would portray it…….NOT.

The die was cast. For good or evil, we are stuck with him another year.

Not sure about the facial expression, wouldn't be my choice, but otherwise very solid work.

Agree with Adaricus on the Livingstone statement. I'm 60%-70% sure a new AD will come in (soon I hope) and part ways with Aranda and bring in his own coach. Would guess the first question in the AD interview process will be, "how long will it take you to find a replacement for Aranda". However, for the life of me I don't understand why Linda felt the need to send the letter. She needs to find better advisors.

Well, now that we've ended up 5-7 and will not be bowling, I guess we'll see if that changes anything.

With the disappointing end to the season, along with the potential loss of key recruits, I wouldn't be surprised at all if there might be a few discussions had today by some very important people.

As I mentioned previously, I felt a win against Houston would likely result in Aranda being retained.

But now, I'm not so certain.

I'm sure there are some BMD'S waking up this morning still heated about yesterday's outcome, along with the possibility of running it back again after what we all just witnessed.

I know everyone assumes Aranda returning in 2026 is a sure deal, but I 100% would not be shocked if we see something happen this week or next.

I don't think anything will happen with a HC until we have an AD. I don't think anyone in Pat Neff is qualified to make such a decision with all the research and conversations that would be needed. And then that AD will make the call on whether to keep Aranda or send him on his way. I suspect 2026 is set in stone likely because of the timing involved. If you fire him after the portal closes, recruits and players are free to go elsewhere, but others are not available to come here from somewhere else. At least that is my understanding.

There is no guarantee at this point, IMO as to how long Aranda is coaching at Baylor. That will fall on the new AD, and likely his / her discussions with BMDs.
