Baylor’s EDGE Exodus Continues with Emar’rion Winston Entering Transfer Portal
Baylor rising redshirt senior EDGE Emar’rion Winston will enter the transfer portal, according to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports.
Winston started all 12 contests this season and totaled 26 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss and a team-high three sacks, with a season-high two sacks coming in Baylor’s 55-28 loss to No. 13 Utah on Nov. 15.
The 6-foot-4, 247-pound prospect played the fifth-most snaps (586) on Baylor’s defense this season and had the ninth-highest rush defense grade (65.2) and fifth-highest pass-rushing grade (66.6) on the team, according to Pro Football Focus.
Winston was a four-star prospect and considered a top-30 EDGE prospect in the country in the 2022 recruiting class. The Portland native began his playing career at Oregon, appearing in 30 games over three years, before transferring to Baylor last offseason.
Baylor now faces a near-complete rebuild of its EDGE room through the transfer portal, as Winston becomes the latest portal entry, joining Matthew Fobbs-White, Kamauryn Morgan and Corey Kelly.
