Marshall defensive lineman Jamaal Whyce has signed with Baylor. He becomes the second defensive line addition this portal cycle, joining Texas State’s Kamren Washington.
The 6-foot-4, 303-pound prospect totaled 33 tackles, 5.5 for loss, 4.0 sacks and four QB pressures in his lone year at Marshall. He played 412 snaps and made nine starts for the Thundering Herd, 201 of which came over tackle, and 152 came in the A-gap or B-gap.
He spent the previous three years at South Carolina, where he posted just four tackles and 46 snaps played.
He was a composite three-star prospect in the 2022 recruiting class out of Florida Christian School in Miami. He held offers from Alabama, Ole Miss, Pitt, Indiana, Kentucky and Florida, among others, but signed with South Carolina.
He will have one year of eligibility remaining.
