Top Quotes

Head coach Mitch Thompson on facing rival TCU this weekend:

  • “They’re a really good team. They’re really well-coached. They’ve got big-time position players. They’ve fought with injuries, and they’ve struggled through that this year, but they’ve been hit hard with it, and are still more than holding their own and doing well. I’ll wish them well after this weekend. I just don’t want them to start playing great baseball until after this weekend.”

Junior left-handed pitcher RJ Ruais on what Tuesday’s win over UTSA can do for Baylor’s confidence:

  • “It shows a lot of fight in this team. We want to win. There are some teams out there and some teams I’ve been on in the past, where we’re down, we’ve fought, that’s good enough, but this team wants to win. This team wants to make a deep run this year. We’ve got goals, and we want to achieve them, and it’s awesome to go out there and see us fight every single game to do that.”

Double gives TCU the lead. Not sure i can defend the coach after this eight and ninth inning. You cannot let your bullpen blow a four run lead.

This one's on Thompson. Bunch has a horrid 8th. It happens, but only the coach could let him pitch the 9th.

Why are we intentionally walking the 6 hole hitter who is hitting. 224 and hasn't done a thing all day with two outs in the 9th?

Striking out the 7 hole doesn't justify that stupid call.

Raise your hand if you didn't think our hitters were going to go three up and three down in the bottom of the ninth. This game was a choke job worthy of a Steve Smith postseason team.

That one's on the coaching staff. He's on my hot seat now. You can't be that dumb and run a ball club.

Worst bit of relief pitching in my 50 years of watching baseball

Such a waste of a great starting pitching job by Wallace.

Thompson is apparently conceding the game in the top of the 6th by leaving McLeod on the mound as long as he did. TCU basically had batting practicing against him.

Among our current HC's in football, men's bball, women's bball, and baseball, the only one I would be even somewhat sad to see go is Drew - and we all know what kind of season he just had.

If you want to be accurate, that needs to be one third of a sandwich, and it's stale by now.

TCU got the fresh two thirds.

No fries.
