Baylor tight end Michael Trigg went undrafted in the 2026 NFL Draft but signed with the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent, according to Jeremy Fowler.

Trigg earned Second-Team All-American and First-Team All-Big 12 honors in 2025, as he hauled in 50 receptions for 694 yards and six touchdowns across 11 contests. He was a Mackey Award Finalist as the nation’s best tight end.

The 6-foot-4, 240-pound Trigg went viral multiple times last fall for his insane one-handed grabs and was viewed by some as a top-five tight end prospect in the 2026 draft class.

In his first season as a Bear in 2024, Trigg was named the Second-Team All-Big 12 after catching 30 balls for 395 yards and three touchdowns.

The Tampa Bay, Florida, native was a top-150 prospect in the 2021 recruiting class and started his career at USC before eventually transferring to Ole Miss and later Baylor ahead of the 2024 season.

Have to wonder if Mack aided in Trigg going undrafted. Dallas might actually be the better place for him so wish him the best

very raw player that's hard to project at the next level. As a wide receiver, he's had some bad drops and isn't very crisp with his route running, but he could be an interesting slot guy. As a tight end, you have to be able to block, and I don't think that's a big strength of his. No clue how he interviews either.

I also just think Dave's program doesn't get much respect from scouts. Dave is not who I would play for if I had NFL aspirations tbh

I wish you were way off base here, but I don't think you are.

100%

Dave Aranda has soft ass programs. Goes to show you that our highlight offense is way behind

Tweener type, overgrown WR or slender TE, and still raw. We see his obvious receiving talent, but there has to be an obvious fit to be on an NFL field. Could be some non-football knocks as well behind the scenes, maybe needs to mature a bit to be trusted with a big contract.

Highlight reel plays only get you so far. It's not like nobody heard of him. It's the stuff you don't see.

I believe any competent coach would've had at least 4 draft picks off this Baylor team

This guy can't coach and no one wants Baylor players

Stowers played with passion in a winning program.

And that's one reason I mentioned Dave Aranda's program's perception. Dave's program doesn't get much respect for a good reason. Contrast that with Matt Campbell's program at Iowa State where the Texans drafted two of their receivers in last year's draft based largely on Campbell's recommendation

Makes sense. I'm tired of everyone saying that Dave is highly respected among coaching circles

I highly doubt it

Been a while since a Bear got signed to Jerruh. Hope he makes the squad.

I hope he does well in the NFL.

I think the one reason he wasn't drafted was his drop rate. When we signed him an Ole Miss friend of mine told me he'd drop a lot of passes.

AI Overview

Michael Trigg was charged with seven drops during the 2025 college football season while playing for Baylor. These drops occurred on 85 targets, giving him a 12.3% drop rate, which was among the highest for tight ends with at least 50 targets that year.
