Got a little sloppy.

Goth is a really good player. Wallace is not able to stop her from driving into the lane.

Have I said this already? Morris is REALLY good. She just plays at her own pace and stays calm. I predict she will be the Big 12 FOY.

Cox has got to make those close shots.

Why are they reviewing this? One of the things I dont like about women's basketball. They're athletes and sometimes it will be physical.

78 to 51 and the Lady Bears know how to share the ball.

A good opening Big 12 performance.

I was thinking that Brown missed more shots than usual then looked at the box score and saw that she shot 70%. I guess I'm spoiled.

Cox still needs to finish better but she does so many things really well. A stat line of 17 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 blocks is darn good.

Richards and Morris look very good and the rotation is probably going to shrink to 7 before too long.

Goth from KSU is a super player. You can tell she spends a lot of time working on her game. I think she is WNBA material.

Does everyone like the preview like this?

We also should have home post-game audio and possible video coming up for home games as well.

For a team that had not played in ten days and had gone through the Christmas season, the Lady Bears played exceptionally well in an away game against a team that has a good nonconference record, though not against an impressive schedule. The third quarter was an anomaly, but Baylor absorbed their best shots and took control of the game once again.

The KSU strategy was clear from the outset...they did not want Brown to beat them, nor Cox, for that matter. This opened up a lot of opportunities for the perimeter players and they took full advantage of it. Chou had a very fine outing, and the bench was extremely effective. Morris is all that you could want in a point guard, and Didi Richards showed to good advantage on both ends of the floor. Ursin did not get as many minutes as I had hoped that she would, but she looked comfortable in her role.

I thought that Lambert was alert and did not press too hard, just let the game come to her, and sometimes it is more impressive to see a player do a lot of little things rather than attempt to score or to exert undue influence when it is not there to accomplish that. The two turnovers that she had were not bad ones, since she was trying to feed an open teammate in one instance, and to get the ball deep to a covered Kalani Brown in the other. Both plays were within the game plan and I doubt that Coach Mulkey will be too displeased about either instance.

Kristy had a good game, but struggled with her defense. The officials were not kind to her, whistling at least two fouls which replays showed were at best questionable. Lauren had a call or two go against her which also seemed to be dubious. It did not affect the outcome of the game, but it did make a difference in how the players were able to defend.

The KSU coach (Mitty) was hard on his team in the half time interview, and they came out and played tough in the third quarter, so I am sure he lit into them. The truth is that he had only one player who could start for Baylor, and one other who could make the roster. The disparity in talent was easy to see. KSU may upset a team or two on their own floor, as they can play much better when they are not so badly out of balance in personnel. They just had no answer for Baylor today, and not too many teams in the NCAA will have this season. We happen to be in the conference with two or three that can probably beat us if we are not playing very well. It will be an interesting season.

Maybe KSU upsets an orange team.

I'm beginning to be impressed with Richards. She really can rebound.

Morris could be the next 0. She has a long way to go.

With Brown and Cox I like our chances in the dance.

Didi has really gotten up to speed. Her first few appearances she was a fouling machine. Hoped to see more of Moon, love her physicality. When I met Morris in Waco, her build reminded me of Skylar Diggins; now she is working more towards Odyssey, love her speed! Those are some BIG shoes to fill.

This KSU team only lost to UCLA by 9. I think this will end up being a pretty impressive win. Go Lady Bears. I love our coach, our bigs, and our tremendous freshman players. It is good to be a fun season. The future is very bright.

I'm very pleased with the 88-58 win by the Lady Bears last night. K. Brown & L. Cox stepped up their play in the 4th Quarter. Excellent effort by Didi Richards. I'll be at the Baylor the Baylor-Texas Tech WBB game on New Year's Eve.

Statman, I appreciate your 20 informational posts on this game thread. Due to a family commitment, I was unable to see the first half of the game. Thank you very much!
