Great defense tonight holding OSU below their average of 83 points.

What a sorry, gory, dis-jointed, slop-fest of a game. Not much fun to watch really. Why is it when two teams get so sloppy as both these teams did tonight there is always a set of refs on the floor that don't know a Buffalo Chip from a shiny door? That pony tailed ref must have just hatched out of the shell. I have never seen her any where not even on TV. She seemed rather unsure of her own calls at times and felt compelled to give a long winded explanation to the coaches. Not a good habit for a ref to get into whether right or wrong. BUT IT'S A W !!

That helped! Thought Cohen had some big plays and those were big threes from Chou!
Glad this game is over, and thankful for a W.
Really hoping for some good news about Didi and Kalani

Kim said Kalani landed hard on her knees and those were sleeves, not braces. No structural damage. Kim wasn't aware of Didi having a problem.

I'm still a little nervous about this team. Well, in all actuality, it's the Elite Eight that makes me anxious.

I think Oklahoma State played much better than their ranking tonight. I also think that they are better than that ranking.

That being said, we are going to see at least one close ballgame on the road, I believe. The fact that we were able to take West Virginia's best shot in Morgantown and still win by double-figures is indeed encouraging. And, even though we are allowed at least one mulligan at this point in the season, I would rather see us run through conference without a blemish on our record.

It will be interesting to see what happens when we turn some of these games around and play in Austin, Stillwater and Fort Worth. Texas is the only team that comes close to matching us in overall strength and talent. That being said, if we let our guard down, we can be upset. We are not invincible. We still have our issues, and I am sure that's fine with Kim because Kim loves any excuse to get better.

I guess I just feel if I can see this team play with consistent intensity and the ability to overcome the best shot from conference opponents, then I will feel more confident in getting over the hump and back into the Final Four.

The guard play was generally lackluster tonight. I felt like Kristy was trying to do too much at times, leading to her low shooting percentage. While we are generally good in transition, we need to do a better job of recognizing when we don't have numbers in our favor. Several times today we charged into a 4 on 1 scenario offensively, leading to a wild shot. If you can get a clean layup or three pointer in transition, then go get it. Otherwise, we are better off slowing down, letting the bigs get down and running our offense. Pulling up for a mid range jumper in transition negates our biggest strengths, our post play and offensive rebounding. I just hate to see wasted possessions where Lauren and Kalani aren't even given an opportunity to do their work.

Kim was apparently not pleased with the defensive effort, but I didn't see too much to be concerned about. They are a free shooting team. It felt like they were making lots of shots, but the stat sheet shows they had a really poor shooting day. The thing that kept the game close in my opinion was not finishing at the rim and generally poor shot selection, especially in the first half. I attribute that to fatigue from playing 3 very competitive games in a short timespan, without a ton of recovery time. Fortunately we have Tech up next, which should give us an opportunity to rest some starters and get the bench involved more. It really is remarkable that we have won the last two games by double digits, when we clearly did not play our best games.

Oklahoma State lost by 3 at now #2 Mississippi State.
Oklahoma State's Goodwin missed a 3 point jumper that would have tied the game with 12 seconds left at Texas.

Baylor didn't play their best game, but never trailed.

Like Kim Mulkey said, give Oklahoma State some credit. They can be pretty good..

Thank you. Finally got on here. I did get to watch the game. Very pleased with the win. These Ladies have had a tough three games. Kristy looked tired tonight. But so proud to see Natalie get those threes.

I was a bit worried about Kalani's knees but I assume she is ok.

They need some rest before Lubbock; and hopefully the bench gets to play a lot up there.

All the best 77. Blessings.

< chuckle > geewago, I agree.
WNBA fans shout their frustration when she refs a game. The excessive amount of time she spends at the monitor to review a play disrupts the quick flow and spontaneity of the game.

It feels like you have enough time to finish off a plateful

Next year, we will have a first rounder. Saw a projected first two rounds and quite a few conference mates were listed. Two from UT, two from OSU, and one (maybe 2) from WV. No Cohen or Wallace. Anyone know if Kristy is interested in playing in the WNBA?

Great to hear. I had no idea the league still played. There hasn't been a team in Houston in years. Further; I haven't seen one of those annoying "we got next" commercials in years.
