BREAKING: WBB Adds Talented Grad Transfer
WACO, Texas – Baylor women’s basketball head coach Kim Mulkey announced the addition of Chloe Jackson, a talented graduate transfer from LSU, to the 2018-19 Lady Bear roster on Tuesday afternoon.
Jackson, a 5-9 guard who will earn a business degree from LSU, has one year of eligibility remaining and will pursue an advanced degree in sport management at Baylor.
Jackson earned All-SEC Second Team and LSWA All-Louisiana Second Team recognition after starting all 29 games for LSU last season. She averaged a team-high 18.1 points per game, playing in a team-high 37.0 minutes per contest. Jackson, who led the Lady Tigers in scoring 16 times, also averaged 4.7 boards per game.
In 2016-17, Jackson was named LSWA Newcomer of the Year and to the LSWA All-Louisiana Second Team after starting 32 games for the Lady Tigers. She was second on the squad in scoring, averaging 13.1 points per game, and fourth in rebounding, averaging 5.1 boards per contest. The Upper Marlboro, Md., native registered six 20-point performances and netted double figures 23 times.
Jackson sat out at LSU in 2015-16 to satisfy NCAA transfer rules after departing NC State following her freshman season in 2014-15.
Jackson attended Riverdale Baptist High School in Upper Marlboro, Md., where she was named Washington Post’s Girls Basketball Player of the Year and WBCA High School All-America honorable mention. She averaged 17.3 points per game and was ranked 19th at the guard position in the class of 2014 by ESPN HoopGurlz.
With the addition, Mulkey will have six newcomers on campus for next season. Jackson joins the top-ranked 2018 recruiting class of forward Caitlin Bickle, forward Aquira DeCosta, center Queen Egbo, guard Honesty Scott-Grayson and forward NaLyssa Smith. Baylor’s roster will be comprised of two seniors, three juniors, four sophomores and five freshmen in 2018-19.
