BREAKING: Baylor lands electric DB Myles Brooks

May 4, 2018
24,205

Pflugerville Hendrickson defensive back Myles Brooks‍ (6-2, 188) gave his pledge to Baylor on Thursday evening before eventually going public with the commitment on Friday. Brooks was recruited by assistants Shawn Bell and Fran Brown.

Brooks committed to the Bears over an offer from Arkansas.

Brooks picked up an offer from the Bears last Sunday evening following his testing performance at The Opening regional in Dallas where he ran a 4.56-second 40-yard dash and recorded a 40.6-inch vertical, scoring a 121.41 SPARQ athletic rating. All numbers at the event are recorded electronically.

2019 BAYLOR FOOTBALL COMMITMENT LIST

The commitment from Brooks was Baylor's second commitment in a 24-hour stretch, joining defensive lineman Harrison White‍ (Klein) who gave his pledge to the Bears earlier in the evening on Thursday.

Baylor now has six commitments in the 2019 class and three defensive backs.

Young people grow and mature at different ages. This guy could grow into a 6 ft. 4 in. 230 lb linebacker that runs a 4.5 forty and is all American and first round draft choice. I am very glad that we got him to play for Baylor.

Probably his athletic ability is electric.

Noticed I didn't find him on his schools track results. I'm sure the coaches would have liked him out for track.

He's a .89 on 247, just .1 short of a 4 Star with some rising stock.

The SicEm database has issues sometimes with the rankings. Not sure why but I know they were trying to address the technical issue.

Not sure that "lands" is an appropriate descriptor for a verbal commit. Might be best to save that term for actual signees.

as long as he's better than the electric football men back in the 60's... most of them just spun around in circles.

10 minutes to line up the offense and defense, flip the switch and watch...nothing really happen.

I had one of those games.

Metal field. Set up your teams and flick the switch. Dang thing rattles them around the field like pentecostals in a tent revival.

I think I asked for and did not get rockem sockem robot boxers.

One of the dumbest games ever made. I inherited one from my older cousins. You get through approximately two plays and then you want to douse the entire contraption in lighter fluid and toss a match on it.

I see EasyE's thread on the decommit, but I seem to be missing EasyE's comment on the original commit.

Yep. A half dozen posters seem eager for the decommit. A happy opportunity.

Not quite accurate if you read the posts on that thread. It was quickly hijacked and most posts were about anything other than the title subject.

Point? So many posts on these threads are about things unrelated to Baylor sports, yet when something directly related to Baylor football, like a decommitment went unnoticed on the board I chose to bring attention to it, because, unlike threads about the Cowboys or Texans, a decommitment of a player does directly effect Baylor football.

Doesn't appear you are reading the posts on that thread. Most of them have nothing to do with the decommit, and I've seen no one on that thread cheering his decommitment.

Unfortunately, as is so often the case on these boards, the facts don't agree with your narrative.

Name them. Who seemed eager for his decommittment?
