Fifth-year senior and defensive end, Xavier Jones has shown promise in the games he has played in while wearing green and gold... and gunmetal gray and black. Entering his senior seaosn, Jones has the tools to become Baylor’s best pass rushers if he can figure out how to stay healthy and on the field.

As a junior, Jones played in four games with two starts, totaling six tackles and two tackles for loss, until he suffered a broken leg in Baylor's contest against Oklahoma.

Jones participated in all 13 games of the 2016 season as a sophomore with two starts at defensive end. His first career start was against the Sooners where he posted one tackle and one quarterback hurry. Jones racked up a career-high six tackles (three solo), two tackles for loss, and forced his first career fumble at UT.

During high school, Jones rated 63rd among national defensive ends by 247Sports.

Xavier is from Magnolia, Texas and is majoring in Health, Kinesiology, and Leisure Studies.

Jones did play in the 2018 Green and Gold game, proving that his broken leg was healed and that he is set to gear up for his last season at Baylor.

Senior Season Expectations

Colt Barber: Disruptor.

Throughout his career, Jones production has been lined by a large number of disruptive plays. In three seasons, including a junior season that was cut short by a significant leg injury, Jones has totaled  31 tackles with nearly one-third of those tackles coming for loss (9.5). Jones started games against Duke and Oklahoma in games three and four of the 2017 season before his injury as he looked to be settling in the starting role.
