Previous: Xavier Jones | Chris Platt
Returning for his senior year, offensive lineman Blake Blackmar is looking to seamlessly reintegrate back into the starting lineup following offseason shoulder surgery. The fifth-year senior has started 25 consecutive games and is tied for second on the team for most career games played with 38.
As a junior Blackmar started each of Baylor's 12 games at right guard. He has also been named to the 2017 and 2016 Academic All-Big 12 first team.
In the 2016 season, Blackmar was an integral part of the offensive line unit that assisted with the Big 12’s top rushing offense and the No. 3 offense overall (522.7 yards/game). His 45 total knockdowns on the season were third best on the team. Blackmar had a career-high six knockdowns at UT as well as two team-high 5 knockdown performances against TCU and at Iowa State.
In high school, Blackmar lettered in football, as well as basketball and track and field (shot put and discus). His father, Bruce Blackmar, lettered as an offensive lineman at Texas.
Blake is from Houston, Texas and is majoring in supply chain management and management information systems.
Blackmar did not play in the 2018 Green and Gold Game as he was recoverying from shoulder surgery but has participated in non-contact drills in his rehab road back to the field.

Senior Season Expecations
Colt Barber: Baylor's entire offensive line unit had extreme consistentcy issues in 2017 and Blackmar will admit he was one of those. An additional offseason in the scheme should benefit Blackmar considerably, spefically in the run game. At 6-foot-5 and 335 pounds, Blackmar is one of Baylor's largest offensive linemen and should be a key to success in the run game. If he can improve his success in mental assignments this fall it will help the success of the entire offensive line and offense this fall.
