Baylor has received a commitment and signature from talented 2019 tight end out of Orange Park (FL) Fleming Island High School Sam Snyder‍ (6-5, 215) during the first day of the early signing period on Wednesday.

Snyder becomes the first tight end commit of the 2019 class, giving his pledge to the Bears over offers from Florida State, Louisville, Maryland, Missouri, Rutgers and Wake Forest. Baylor offered Snyder on Nov. 18, 2018 and he took his official visit to Waco less than two weeks later on Nov. 30.

2019 BAYLOR COMMITMENT LIST

Snyder will provide an additional level of athleticism at the tight end position for the Bears. As a high school junior, Snyder posted 102.57 SPARQ score that included a 4.59 40-yard dash, 4.69 20-yard shuttle and a 40-inch vertical jump.

He is a 3* on 247 but google has 5* reviews for his medical practice in Temple, so let's average that out and call him a 4*. Welcome Sam.

I still don't understand how this kid flew under the radar until after his season and then suddenly multiple top level programs were pushing for him. With that size and speed, he could be a great addition particularly if he has halfway decent hands.
