Baylor senior WR Jalen Hurd to miss Texas Bowl
SicEm365 has confirmed a report by ESPN’s Jake Trotter that Baylor senior wide receiver Jalen Hurd will miss the Texas Bowl against Vanderbilt after minor knee surgery. Hurd sustained the injury during the first drive of the regular season finale against Texas Tech at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
The surgery was minor, SicEm365 has been told, and Hurd hopes to be back in time to participate in the Senior Bowl.
Hurd, the Big 12’s Offensive Newcomer of the Year, totaled 1,155 yards and seven touchdowns on 117 touches in 12 regulard season games. In his first year as a receiver, Hurd caught 69 passes for 946 yards and four scores, including 695 yards and two touchdowns on 51 receptions.
Hurd transferred to Baylor from Tennessee during the summer of 2017 and made the transition from running back to receiver. In his career, Hurd totaled 4,285 total yards and 33 touchdowns over four seasons.
