BREAKING: Baylor lands ATH Peyton Powell over Texas, Ohio State

One of the final prospects left on the board, Baylor received a commitment from four-star Odessa (TX) Permian athlete Peyton Powell‍ on the first day of the early signing period. Powell took a surprise official visit to Baylor on Dec. 8 and then de-committed from Texas a few days later on Dec. 13 before deciding to join the Bears.

Powell (6-2, 182) is one of the most athletic recruits in Baylor’s 2019 recruiting class. At The Opening  regional in the spring, Powell ran a 4.45 40-yard dash, a 4.25 shuttle, and had a 37.6-inch vertical, giving him a SPARQ score of 113.22.

Powell has the best offer list of any of Baylor’s commits. He has offers from Oklahoma, Ohio State, Texas, TCU and Ole Miss along with many more.
