Baylor was led by a career night from King McClure who poured in 29 points; had 9 rebounds and 4 assists as the Bears beat a hot OSU team in Stillwater 73-69.

Positives
  • What a night from King McClure.  29 points; 9 rebounds; 4 assists and only 1 turnover.  He also played great defense.  McClure’s KenPom offensive rating was an eye popping 179.
  • Makai Mason made big plays down the stretch.  He is the finisher.  Mid range jumper.  Knocked down clutch free throws.  Drew a charge- come on Kimble!!!  That was one of the worst calls in recent memory.  But in the end it didn’t matter.
  • Vital is rough when it comes to shooting but his energy destroys the will of other teams late in games.  13 rebounds; 5 assists; 1 block; 2 steals and 1-1 from the free throw line.  Surround him with 4 great offensive players and we have something special.
  • Jared Butler continues to impress.  Love his game.  He makes freshmen mistakes at times.  But he competes and he’s starting to shoot the 3 really well.  The future of Baylor’s backcourt is bright.
  • Gillespie, Bandoo, Kegler, Thamba all gave important contributions to this win.  I thought Mayer’s energy was good as well but he needs to convert that dunk opportunity in the first half.
Needs Work
  • Still plenty of work to do in cleaning up the turnover issues.  With a smaller lineup, we should be better in that area.
  • Kegler or Vital has to give us better efficiency in the paint.  I know we are not seeing the version of Mario Kegler that we will see at some point.  He’s struggling with his confidence offensively.  Love his effort on the glass and defensively though.
