BREAKING: OL Paul Matavao-Poialii signs with Baylor over UCLA, Colorado

Baylor has landed a commitment and signature from 2019 offensive lineman Paul Matavao-Poialii‍ (Daly City, CA/Jefferson) over the likes of UCLA, Missouri, Colorado, Oregon State and Kansas. Matavao picked up an offer from the Bears in December and took an official visit to Baylor before the early signing period.

Matavao-Poialii (6-4, 330) was a late bloomer out of the San Francisco area and was made a priority by Baylor assistant coaches Shawn Bell and Joey McGuire. 

Known as “PMP” to Baylor fans, the California prospect played and excelled on both the offensive and defensive line as a high school prospect.

I'm confused. His twitter page said it was KU, Fresno, and Oregon St, and Oregon St said it was out of schollies as of noon. Either way, great pick up! Looks like he has the frame that can dominate after a year working out. Always good to find linemen!

the picked over X, Y and Z is always misleading but he looks plenty good and will help us. Now I just hope we can stop losing guys. Losing BJ Thompson reallllly stings.

I hope we give PMP a look on defense; he looked more natural on defense to me.

He had 11 offers including UCLA. I don't think it is misleading to say that he picked BU over all of them.

Hope PMP will help our offensive line, even though it improved last season (compared to what it was in the 2017 campaign) , we still need to create gaps for Craig Williams, John Lovett, and JaMycal Hasty and all of the new running backs we got in this recruiting class. Man, I just realized how much I'm going to miss sometimes putting Jalen Hurd at running back at the goal line, he could work some crazy magic.
