BREAKING: Baylor lands commitment from 2020 ATH Taye McWilliams
Baylor landed their third commitment of the week and of their 2020 recruiting class when Taye McWilliams of Lamar Consolidated gave his verbal pledge to the Bears on Wednesday evening. A high school running back, McWilliams is being recruited as an athlete by the Bears with the ability to play on offense or defense.
He announced his commitment on Thursday morning.
McWilliams (6-2, 202) recently registered a 118.38 SPARQ rating at The Opening regionals. McWilliams registered a 4.48 40-yard dash, a 38.3-inch vertical, a 4.23 shuttle and a 37-foot powerball toss.
He committed to the Bears over offers from Texas Tech, Houston and SMU.
As a junior McWilliams carried the ball 97 times for 743 yards and 9 touchdowns while catching 7 passes for 51 yards.
McWilliams joins linebacker Will Garner and offensive lineman Gavin Byers in the recruiting class. Garner gave his pledge on Sunday and Byers made things public on Tuesday evening.
