And then there were two left in the Greensboro Regional. The number one seed Lady Bears and number two seed Iowa Hawkeyes with a chance to go to the Final Four. The Hawkeyes lost six games in the regular season, but hasn’t tasted defeat since February 21. The one time the Hawkeyes faced superior athleticism from a top ranked opponent, Notre Dame blitzed Iowa 105-71 in South Bend. All six losses for Iowa were on a neutral floor or on the road.

This is my favorite comment from their thread:

I'm guessing they are referring to Lauren Cox and Kalani Brown!

Those comments are so foul and mean-spirited I wouldn't even want them quoted on our board, where Kalani and Lauren could possibly read them - or worse - their parents read them. I would be just as happy if that was deleted.

Read their message board and just considered the source. Won't lower myself with hateful remarks. Instead I'm going to say something positive about Iowa's performance tonight. Wright County, Iowa, has the highest percentage of grade-A topsoil in the country.

That's why I almost never go to opposing fan boards. There are too many people who place way too much emphasis on sports and what "their" team is doing. They don't know how to win or lose gracefully. They give all fans a bad name and it is not worth the effort paying any attention to them.

In all fairness, most of those coarse and crude comments are most likely from non wbb fans who jumped on the bandwagon. You can assume this based on their lack of knowledge as to who the main players are and the incessant jabbing at Kim's appearance and personality. Pretty lame but I would guess this is not the norm for their wbb fanbase.

Nets are not typically cut down on the first weekend.

I found it curious that during each of the tournament games, the TV announcers hyped the star player of the opposing team to show how they could beat Baylor. I know this is standard TV fare but it was quite amusing how each one of these women was a superstar that was going to lead their team to victory only to be run over by Baylor. This goes back to Bridget Carleton of Iowa State in the Big 12 Championship game (& probably earlier too) and includes Kristine Anigwe of Cal, Gustafson of Iowa, Sabrina Ionescu of Oregon, and of course Arike Ogunbowale of ND. I'm sure there was one for S Carolina but I cannot remember who.

Probably correct. At times, they even did say something like that, although more diplomatically.

I liked how an espn writer (Voepel) recently described the Lady Bears as "like a giant sledgehammer that keeps pounding." That was before the NCAA Tournament, however. I think the games during that tournament only confirmed that view. It is easy to imagine how high the score differential could have been against ND had Lauren Cox not gone down late in the 3rd.
