Kalani Brown Joins Griner as Baylor's Only 3-Time WBCA All-American

TAMPA, Fla. – Baylor senior center Kalani Brown picked up her third-straight WBCA All-America award Thursday night joining Brittney Griner as the program’s only three-time selections by the national coaches’ organization.

Brown leads the Lady Bears who will play in the NCAA Final Four for the fourth time in program history beginning Friday night at 6 p.m. vs. Oregon. The senior Slidell, La. native averages 15.5 points, 8.1 rebounds, 1.7 blocks and shoots .609 from the floor.

The 6-7 center is just the sixth BU player in history to achieve both 2,000 career points and 1,000 career rebounds and ranks in the top five in school history in points, rebounds, double-doubles, field goals made, free throws made and blocked shots. She’ll be the career-record holder for field goal percentage.

Brown is now a 12-time all-American entering her senior season with eight different recognitions and adding espnW, Associated Press,USBWA and WBCA to her illustrious resume.

Griner, like Brown, was honored as one of the 10 best players in the nation in 2011, 2012 and 2013 while garnering honorable mention honors in 2010.

Baylor junior Lauren Cox earned honorable mention honors by the WBCA, her third all-America selection this season after earning third-team honors by the AP and USBWA.

Cox’s all-around season garnered the recognition as she averages 12.9 points, 8.1 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 2.5 blocks and shoots .517 from the floor entering into Friday’s national semifinals.
