Tristan Clark- a 6-9 230 lbs forward from Wagner High School in the San Antonio area made it official earlier this week by signing his letter of intent with Baylor for 2017. Clark committed to Baylor in October of 2015.
I caught up with Tristan on some questions after signing
Most schools were pretty respectful of my decision.
They have all been great experiences and I matured and learned a lot from those experiences. Judson was great. I grew many relationships with players and I had a really good coach that taught me a lot about the game.
Findlay was a learning experience and was challenging physically as well as mentally but it made me stronger and I got to play with a lot of the best players around the nation.
Wagner is my old rival school when I was at Judson so it is kind of weird that I ended up here but it is fun and they have had experience developing two pros- Jordan Clarkson and Andre Roberson.
Yes- of course I looked into the development of their big guys and in my position most guys they put out play in the NBA or professionally overseas. So that is very exciting and intriguing.
I want to win a state championship and just have a memorable senior season year. I'm working on my strength and perimeter game with ball handling and shooting.
I'll probably major in business or sports management when I am at Baylor. I'm close with Coach Drew. I know all of the guys on the team and got to hang with them on my official but I wouldn't say there is one guy that I am closest to yet.

You were committed to Baylor and never wavered. Did other schools come after you to try and get you to decommit? Just curious what the recruiting process was like after you committed?
Most schools were pretty respectful of my decision.
You have had a busy 3 years: Judson (SO); Findlay Prep (JR) and now Wagner (SR). How has your game grown at each stop?
They have all been great experiences and I matured and learned a lot from those experiences. Judson was great. I grew many relationships with players and I had a really good coach that taught me a lot about the game.

Baylor has a strong track record of developing bigs with a lot of success with redshirts- Jefferson, Motley, Udoh and Acuil come to mind. It seems like that year of focusing on development helped set each of those players up for future success. Has there been discussion of that for you?
Yes- of course I looked into the development of their big guys and in my position most guys they put out play in the NBA or professionally overseas. So that is very exciting and intriguing.
What do you want to accomplish this year? What are you working on to prepare for college?
I want to win a state championship and just have a memorable senior season year. I'm working on my strength and perimeter game with ball handling and shooting.
What do you want to major in at Baylor? Who is keeping in touch with you (coaches and players) on the current Baylor team?
I'll probably major in business or sports management when I am at Baylor. I'm close with Coach Drew. I know all of the guys on the team and got to hang with them on my official but I wouldn't say there is one guy that I am closest to yet.
