Coaching is cut throat business and some are mercenary in nature taking the highest paying offer despite security at a current program. Some coaches take a promotion and leave a program. Some leave to the NFL to avoid recruiting and the road.

Either way, when an assistant leaves it creates a void for the territory being covered and relationships with current and future prospects.
