Baylor's Shea Langeliers selected 9th-overall by the Atlanta Braves in the MLB Draft

In the first round of the MLB draft on Monday, Baylor catcher Shea Langliers heard his name called with the 9th pick in the MLB Draft by the Atlanta Braves.

Langeliers (6-0, 190) finished off his three-year Baylor career with 31 home runs and 124 RBIs at the plate and a .995 fielding percentage at the catcher position.

The Baylor catcher capped of a marvelous career with one of the greatest performances in NCAA Tournament history. He went 5-for-6 with three home runs and 11 RBI’s in a 24-6 victory over Omaha in the Los Angeles Regional.

I was watching the Braves last night and the announcers were very excited about getting Langeliers. Braves have a lot of good young pitchers. They didn't think he would still be there at 9 due to his game in the regional but pounced when they got the chance.
