Matt Rhule Quote of the Week...

“I think that we look like a team that's not going to beat ourselves, but we have to actually go out there and do it. And I think the biggest thing is just maturity. You know, when I stand up in front of the team and talk and when guys go in their position rooms and talk, you have a bunch of veteran players that are bought into not just what we're doing but how we're doing it and that that's important to me.”

Baylor’s Key Players

Quarterback #12 Charlie Brewer

The junior quarterback gets his chance to rack up the stats that he was not able to early last season and he will not have to look over his shoulder at Jalan McClendon this year. Time to start his junior year on the right foot.

Right guard #74 Prince Pines

Pines was one the more exciting commits in the loaded 2018 offensive line class. He came into Baylor at 6-4, 354 pounds but has gotten himself in better shape since arriving at Baylor and is now down to 339 pounds.

Defensive End #9 James Lockhart

The 6-2, 263-pound senior should be absolutely dominant against Stephen F. Austin and he is a guy everyone should be focused on. There is no one for the Lumberjacks that should be able to consistently block him so the expectation is for him to live in the backfield, hurry the quarterback, and get a couple tackles for loss.

Safety #1 Grayland Arnold

The redshirt junior sat out the majority of last season in order to preserve an extra season at Baylor. This off-season has been absolutely huge for him and he has taken the necessary steps to become a massive contributor in the Bears secondary.

Stephen F. Austin Key Players

Quarterbacks #2 Trae Self | #12 Cam Arnold — The quarterback battle is still ongoing and Baylor will probably see both guys but Trae Self will most likely get the start.

Running back #21 Da’Leon Ward — The Texas Tech transfer should add some pop to the Lumberjacks rushing attack.

Wide receiver #8 Tamrick Pace — Pace is the top returning wide receiver for the Lumberjacks.

Linebacker #7 Quin Jones — The 6-0, 232-pound linebacker started every game a season ago for Stephen F. Austin.

Kicker #36 Storm Ruiz — The preseason All-Southland Conference First Team selection had a great season a year ago and will be a weapon for the Lumberjacks all season long.

We covered the 42 pt spread. Happy to see Abram score his first TD; he's fought through a lot of injuries in his football career.
We better stop SFA to keep that spread win

Will always be a Baylor fan, but would be hard to bet the spread while rhule is coach.

Congrats to the players, who I thought played an outstanding first game.

Congrats to sfa as well. Looked competent all night, and I thought the new coach's enthusiasm showed through. I think he was a great hire, and they are such an obvious improvement over previous sfa teams. Game well played.

Back door cover during a beat down doesn't have anything to do with Rhule, fool.

Coach Rhule was right. SFA is one thing, but against OU or Texas we need much better protection for Charlie.
