Please explain how a four year extension is a poor business decision.

According to David Smoak of ESPN Central Texas, Baylor head football coach Matt Rhule has agreed to a contract extension that will take his deal with Baylor through March of 2028.

Let's see.....
He has gone 1-11 and 6-6 in his first 2 seasons. And walloped the worst team in the SEC in a bowl game by just barely.
Extension?
Sure. Before Alabama comes after him.

Go watch a replay of Rice game and see how unprepared we were.
And he has yet to have a winning season.
If he ends up winning 7 or 8 games this year, consider extending then. Not now.

I attend more Baylor athletic events than anybody on this board more than likely. Yes. I'm a diehard.

Seems premature. I think ISU was our first win against a team with a winning record.
When you throw to a receiver, you throw it to where he's going, not where he is.

Same time that the Rutgers head coach got fired. Maybe the board was afraid he would go rebuild Rutgers back in Jersey

I'm not avoiding anything. Don't like being called names. Uncalled for.
We had 70 yards offense in second half. Poor game plan? Poor play calling? Lack emotion, readiness by players? Or something else. Don't know. I do know having team ready is responsibly of Rule. He admitted it post game.
That's it
The fact you have no clue how much money is involved and yet came to this conclusion tells me, you are bad businessman and wouldn't know a good decision if it was right in front of you.CTbruin said:

He/we were 7-6 last year. You then repeated your falsehood again as if the more you say something objectively wrong it becomes truth.
Back in the bearscoop days, I used to enjoy your takes regardless if I agreed with them or not. Now, nothing personal, you come off as a bitter curmudgeon who took a wrong side of history take and is too prideful to admit you were wrong (we all have bad takes). One of the farthest falls from respectability I have seen in 20 years of BU message board posting. Hope in real life all is well, sir.

I hope our coach takes to the playoffs. I'd be thrilled.
Just don't think he had shown us a 10 year worth contract yet. That's it.
Likely means it has been agreed to and probably even signed by the parties, but has to be officially voted on at the BOR meeting to become fully inked. Basically it's done except for the formality.Bear75605 said:
So the quote was "Rhule's contract will be finalized at the next Board of Regents meeting on November 1st.". Does this mean that we have a valid contract or is this an agreement in principle?
Aren't you a longtime poster over on ODB? If so, I never remembered you as a guy/gal for poor takes during my time there.CTbruin said:

I just gave an opinion based on what I've seen. That's it.
And if he's right, you'll eat a pair of mack's underwear while most of Baylor will be ecstatic and enjoy the benefits?CTbruin said:
I just hope he is right. If not, us fans and supporters get to pay for it.
