“We have an option. We can fold, or we can come out fighting, and right now I feel like we’re still swinging. We’re not done yet.”

“This is still a resilient team, and we don’t let bad things affect us. We just have to keep pushing forward. It’s been frustrating, but each week you just have to come out and find a way to play better than last week.”

Ryan Reid...

“With the offense, protecting the ball is going to be really important, because they have a great defense. And with us, they have a great offense, and the only way we can give our offense the ball is if we turn it over. So I feel like, on both ends, getting the ball and keeping the ball is going to be very important.”

“Everything. (Jim Grobe) kept our heads level. He’s tried to push me and the other seniors to keep helping out the team and to stay positive. We just thank him for everything.”

Jordan Feuerbacher...

“(Zach Smith) improved a great deal I thought. The kid is tough as anything out there. I mean he took his fair share of shots all day and he got right back up and that’s what you want to see from a quarterback, especially a young quarterback. He’s starting to be a great leader now and I think he’s going to be a great leader for the program for the rest of his time here. I think Baylor, as a school, is lucky to have him.”

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Just seems like once the other team hits you, you should be able to hit anyone you want.

Or if you get hit and your momentum carries you into someone else. Just ridiculous.

Can't think of a single positive play the man has made all year but I can remember tons of cheap shots and that completely boneheaded play right there...

Took referee jujitsu to end that game.

If I'm a coach I'm actually more interested in Baylor after this game. This team is obviously talented.

And he can offer almost immediate playing time. There are not many positions outside of WR, LB, or DB that isn't wide open.

Ish Wilson is terrible. He's always seems to lose his head at least once.

I thought he helped cost us the game with his poorly timed penalties. Personal foul knocking the ball out of the defender's hands after a turnover, moving the ball from the 12 to the 6 for an offense that had struggled against our defense all day. A completely purpose and idiotic foul. I would be curious to see how many penalties and what % of the offensive line penalties he has accumulated this year.

Certainly Fuller has had his share, but the problem I see is that Ish's penalties are generally non-productive. Most of the time (at least as I recall it) he isn't being flagged for holding or for a false start trying to get a quick get off the line. He's flagged for this kind of stupid stuff. Worse, he's not educable as I have no doubt the coaches have been in his ear all year for crap like this. I don't blame him for the forward lateral to Zach--that's just pure panic talking. But my guess is that you could pick up between 100 and 150 yards by moving him to second string alone if you had another equally capable lineman technically. We may not have such a person, and that may be why he's on the field.

His slot is a place at which I would think a decent JUCO OG could immediately improve the team.

I had to listen to the game rather than watch it b/c I was travelling, but my impressions from the broadcast were:

1. Our #1 recruits aren't in HS, but on our team--Taylor Young and T. Blanchard.
2. We have a quarterback. The kid has ability and guts and had to have been earning the respect of his teammates by taking the pounding and keeping on coming.
3. KB continues to make silly calls. 2d quarter, T.Will is humming, so run three pass plays for three incompletions and punt. Good call KB. Improved as they went through the game.
4. Generally very proud of the team for staying in it and not mailing it in. JKB said this team will be more appealing to a coach b/c of talent. I'd say they'll be more appealing because there's a lot of "no quit" in these guys.
5. Morris said we'd played 19 RSF and 14 true freshman this year. Those #'s are astronomical and I had no idea we were so dependent on young guys. It will help us in the future b/c they've gotten a ton of experience, but it sure was tough to watch the 2d half of the season.
