Baylor has landed a commitment from 2019 tight end Drake Dabney out of Cypress Ranch High School in Houston, Texas. Dabney was previously committed to Arizona but had been pursued by the Baylor coaching staff throughout his recruitment. He picked up an offer from Baylor on May 28, 2019.
The 6-foot-5, 230-pounder held offers from Arizona State, California, Iowa State, Louisville, Minnesota, Missouri, Oklahoma State, Purdue, South Carolina, TCU and Utah among several others.
At The Opening regional in Houston in March Dabney posted a 4.89-second 40-yard dash and a 4.58-second shuttle.
As a senior, Dabney caught 35 passes for 476 yards and seven touchdowns.
He is expected to sign with Baylor on Wednesday, the first day of the December signing period.
