Gatewood Report: OSU Preview Thoughts

February 7, 2020

We’ve had a couple of stretches during January/February where we’ve had to play 3 games in 5 days:  ISU; at OSU; OU and then this last stretch at ISU; TCU; at KSU.  Interestingly, we struggled to make FTs in those Monday games at the end of that stretch.  Against OU (61-57 win), the game was more dramatic because we missed three straight front end of 1 and 1s.  Against KSU (73-67 win), we shot 16-29 from the free throw line.  Do you attribute this to tired legs at the last game of that stretch?  Curious to hear your thoughts on that and on Baylor’s performance versus KSU and the upcoming game versus OSU this Saturday?

Larry Gatewood:

FIRST OF ALL…If Ashley is trying to find a flaw in the Bears 2019-2020 Basketball Resume…Then yes, above comments could be could be accurate…It might be like your wife answering you with the two “DAGGER” words…”Sure” and “Fine”…If women answer their husbands with either one of those words…There is a “HIDDEN AGENDA”…If there's one thing everyone can agree on about females, it's that when they say they're fine, they are most certainly NOT fine…

SECONDLY…Let’s look at what Ashley’s  comments could really mean…Is it that Ashley has a “HIDDEN AGENDA” in his wording, but yet… he is saying the Bears are “FINE”…But he really thinks the Bears have a “MAJOR FLAW” in this year’s team…Do we as Baylor Fans need to “Panic”?…

THIRDLY…NO…We do not have a “MAJOR FLAW”…and Baylor Nation can rest easy…We are the “TORTOISE and we are steady…And we will win the race…

FOURTHLY…Now, the real answer…We as fans, and the team and coaches are really excited.
