There was a time—even before the Dave Bliss scandal in 2003—that people thought Baylor’s basketball program would never be able to compete in the Big 12.

Terry Black helped change that narrative.

One season after the Bears went 6-24 and 0-16 in conference play in 1999, Black arrived on campus and propelled Baylor to a level of respectability that the program hadn’t garnered in decades.
