As tough as this is to type, I am damn proud of our boys tonight! They came in and had great poise and were the best team on the floor. I bet they play with fire the rest of the way out.

Hope we don't drop too far
We aren't falling far after that game. Even the writers know home cooking when they see it.

Screw 51 wins in a row at home.

They should have two losses this year. KSU with the 5 step layup and tonight.

We have now played at the 2 toughest venues we will play at all year. ISU will be tough but not like WVU and tonight. Tournaments will be neutral sites and lots of home games.

We have to find an answer at 2 guard, we get anything at all from them and we win that game

Might be time to bench Freeman. Seems completely out of sync with the rest of the guys IMO.

Agreed but I'm not sure what the answer is. Start Lindsey but someone's got to spell him and King isn't much better yet. I know Al has the potential, needs to break out of his funk.

I'm not worried about our ranking at this point. These guys have proven they can play with the best, and this will be a learning experience. Every time they looked like they were going to pull away, we showed guts and poise and answered. It will help us during the tournament. These guys are tuf!!!

Duly noted, and I still hope we don't drop too far.

What happened with Freeman? He has just disappeared.

Let's go unconventional at the 2 and make the zone really really long start Ish at the 2 and start Omot at the 3.

Can one of you knowledgable types explain how this blatant home-cooking actually happens?

It can't just be the tendency to play to the home crowd, because we don't get the favors with even our largest crowds.

I presume it is not a local crew. Aren't they assigned by the conference?
Play at Duke w/out being UNC
At UNC w/out being Duke
At Kentucky
At Kansas

Any of those places you have to beat the crowd, refs and the team.

I sicerely want to understand how this works.

Who are these specific refs, and do they risk not getting to work Allen Fieldhouse if they call the game straight?

Why doesn't every announcer call out the absurdity of it?

He's got the yips. Wish we could get some breathing room in a couple of games so we could see if Mitchell could turn into an answer.

Don't take much to get the Scott Drew critics stirred up, does it?
-------------------------------------------------

Skip: You guys. You lollygag the ball around the infield. You lollygag your way down to first. You lollygag in and out of the dugout. You know what that makes you? Larry!
Larry: Lollygaggers!
Skip: Lollygaggers.

Then he should make the change.

For the record I do think he is a great coach just poor choice of wording.
I agree we need to figure out something at the 2. Freeman has turned into a black hole. I'm just saying there should never be an "if" in front of "Scott Drew is a great coach."

You can't start Jake. You need him to be part of that dominant bench group.

The answer is King. You just have to play him and hope he hits his threes.

I agree. You start King. You always need a shooter at the 2. If you bring in Jake you shift Manu to the 2.

That's insane. Just so wrong. I hope we will at least be on even footing at home on the 18th. Everyone better bring it!

We don't even need it to be even. I'd take 1/2 of their 27 attempts and we win. 1/2 of their attempts would be more than double what we shot tonight. That's just flat out ridiculous. I don't like blaming a loss on refs, but giving KU 16 extra points from the charity stripe did us in.

I'm proud of our guys because even with that decidedly slanted stat they still had a chance with the last possession.

Our best back court is clearly Jake and Manu, but you need Jake off the bench and you need that duo out there at certain times, especially the final 5 minutes.

Jake fouling out with 8 to go on a clean play definitely hurt. His 4th foul also looked like it should've been a 2nd jump ball like the one in the first half.

The refs were just trying to help us out by minimizing the opportunities for the "No means no" chants.
