Center- Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua (6-8 245 lbs SO)

Wingspan:  7-4

KenPom Offensive Rating:  103 (as freshman at UNLV)

Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua is an exciting basketball prospect that will bring back memories of Quincy Acy for Baylor fans.  Jon came to Baylor from UNLV after averaging 3.4 points and 3.5 rebounds at UNLV as a freshman.  He made the most of his transfer year by working relentlessly on his game.

Strengths:  Jon is a physically imposing big who is strong, fast and has a 39 inch vertical.  He has the potential to be an elite shot blocker, rebounder and rim roller.  But he’s also developed a nice touch on his shot inside 12 feet.  His motor and desire to improve are probably his two biggest strengths.  No one works harder and no one plays with more energy and purpose.

What Needs Improvement:  Jon has only been playing the game for about 5-6 years.  His understanding of the game is improving rapidly but he’s still behind a lot of guys that have played the game since 5 or 6 years old.  He got in foul trouble in a few games at UNLV.

Player Comparison:  Jon loves the way Bam Adebayo plays.  As hard as he works, I wouldn’t rule that out.  Montrezl Harrell is one that comes to my mind.  Tchatchoua plays with that kind of aggression and motor and has Harrell’s athleticism.  Quincy Acy is one for Baylor fans to cling to.  A bigger, stronger version of Acy.
