Baylor-Oklahoma St. Game Postponed to Dec. 12

WACO, Texas — The scheduled game between Baylor and Oklahoma State has been postponed due to the Big 12 Conference’s football game interruption guidelines and will now be played December 12 at McLane Stadium.

“We are disappointed to postpone another game,” said Baylor Director of Athletics Mack B. Rhoades. “However, the significant increase in positive COVID-19 cases has led to concerns of an outbreak and the decision to suspend team practice through October 17. Secondly, this has caused a position group to fall below the minimum threshold of available players.

“Though this is an unfortunate outcome, we remain determined to return to the field in the safest manner possible. Thank you to Commissioner Bowlsby and Oklahoma State AD Mike Holder for their cooperation in rescheduling this matchup.”

Kick time and television coverage for the rescheduled game will be released when available.

“In situations like this, it is best to do all that you can to break the chain of transmission to help mitigate the length of time for ongoing spread of the virus,” said Dr. Christopher J. Hostler, Co-Founder and Co-Owner of Infection Control Education for Major Sports (ICS). ICS serves as a consultant to the Big 12 in matters related to COVID-19.

As additional information is released, it will be communicated to original ticket holders via email to the email address on file.

We have a lot of "smart " youngsters in here. Why do we seem to have more COVID-19 issues than just about everyone else?

Baylor (Livingstone) being over cautious...what else can it be?

Are you suggesting Livingstone gave our players COVID?

Right on. Everyone knows if you're brave, COVID can't get you.

I wonder which position group it is this time. I would not expect it to be OL again. I was thinking last week that maybe Charlie was having an off day in Morgantown because his health was less than 100%. It's just a wild guess and probably not the case, but what if? We may never know. I want the games to be played, of course, but I also want our players to be fully healthy when they play. Besides the obvious concerns about their general welfare, we'll have a better chance of winning that way.

Can't be the OL. They didn't get within 6 feet of blocking WVU defenders, so I'd say they are the best group we have at social distancing.

90% of the team will have had it by now. We will have 1.5 weeks of practice together for the first time in a long time prior to the UT game. UT will have little tape on our starting groups. Charlie will have had three weeks of healing time with his eyes in the prize of beating Ehlinger.

I predict a smack down in Austin and I'm willing to be patient for it.

For sure, we will kill em with 2 yard crossing routes. Maybe by game time it will be 3 yards.

The more posts like this I see, the more I wonder if we're a university of basic education.
