Baylor senior forward Tristan Clark announced on social media Tuesday his plans to retire from the game of basketball and not play his final season for the Bears in the 2020-2021 season.

Clark averaged 7.5 points and 4.2 rebounds in his career for the Bears beginning in 2017. As a sophomore in the 2018-2019 season, Clark led the nation in field goal percentage at 73.7% while averaging 14.6 points and 6.3 rebounds.

The news comes less a week ahead of No. 1/2 Baylor’s season opener against No. 17/18 Arizona State. The Bears will face the Sun Devils on Nov. 25 at 8 p.m. CT in the first round of the 2k Empire Classic.

Wow. Sad for Tristan. He had skills and played with passion. Big setback for the team. Luckily we still have a lot of talent but this will hurt us inside.

Mark Vital stay healthy!
