Coach Scott Drew: Start-2:08
King McClure and Johnathan Motley: 2:09-End

Scott Drew

On the honing in on the team’s energy
“Coming off last Saturday’s home game we were so focused on our energy and being more intent and better. And we were able to do that.”

On McClure stepping up in place of Al Freeman
“King’s been tremendous. He’s healthy, he’s been injured over the course of this year. That’s affected some of his play but we have confidence in him. Just like why we’ve been successful is we have different guys step up and got a lot of parts. The good thing is, they’re very unselfish out there. Nobody cares who gets the credit.”

On Motley’s performance
“Mot was tremendous. He’s had some good games but when you shoot 12 for 15, those are special and he was really, really effective. It was fun to watch him.”

Johnathan Motley

On competing against an NBA-caliber player boosting his game
“Look forward to those really key matchups, especially when you’re playing against a really good big guy. So it’s just always fun to have that level of competition.”

On his hot hand shooting
“Just making sure I was aggressive, making sure I was finishing by the rim as best I could. Basically just kinda taking my teammates’ passes and making sure I finish ‘em.”

On the benefit of having sharp shooters like McClure step up
“It helps a ton. Like King just said, I was tell him to keep shooting because the more they shoot, the more I make shots. It opens up one-on-one opportunities for me. We just complement each other.”

King McClure

On his rhythm in the first half
“I was just in the zone. And Johnathan had a few nice passes to me for me to get open, told me to keep shooting and just gave me confidence. I just wanted to get to a good start.”

On showing another dimension of his game driving the lane
“Lot of people think of me as just a shooter. But you know, I can get to the cup a little bit.”

One getting this opportunity to start the past couple games
“It means a lot to me, for my confidence. As a kid, you grow up wanting to start for a top-10 team and I was just living out my  dream and not taking anything for granted.”
