#2 Baylor (10-0; 3-0) handles Oklahoma (6-3; 2-2) with a decisive 15 point victory in their first Big12 home game. Next up for the Bears is a game against TCU Saturday January 9th in Fort Worth.
Positives
- Locked in from the opening tip. The Bears jumped out to a 16-2 lead. After allowing the Sooners to pull within 5, the Bears 14-2 run to end the first half and never allowed the Sooners to get closer than 9 in the second half.
- Terrific shooting from 3 outside of Mitchell and Butler who were 0-8, many of those end of the shot clock attempts. Mayer, Cryer, Flagler, Teague were 10-16.
- After 9 turnovers in the first half, only 4 in the second half.
- Outrebounded OU 41-30
- Held OU to 4-24 from three point range
- Matt Mayer and Adam Flagler were fantastic off the bench.
- Loved the energy and efforts from Thamba, Mayer, Jon and Vital on the glass.
Needs Improvement
- Interior defense needs to tighten up, solid but could be better.
- 9 turnovers in the first half
- Fouled 3 point shooters a few times
- Sharing the basketball with more efficiency. We need to become a better passing team. We are good but potential to be elite.
