#2 Baylor goes on a 19-1 run in the second half to bury OSU in Stillwater 81-66. The Bears are now 14-0 (7-0) on the season. Clavin and Ashley Hodge break down the game on the post game podcast.
Positives:
- Jared Butler says “Not Today”. He was 5-5 from 3 in the seond half. The Bears outscored OSU 49-30 after intermission.
- Mark Vital and Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua were playing with a lot more urgency in the second half. Vital finishes with a season high 19 points (8-9 FGs). Everyday Jon only has 4 points and 4 rebounds but also has 4 blocks.
- Mitchell with 9 assists to only 1 turnover- outstanding. Flagler 10 points; 3 rebounds; 3 assists; 3 steals and no turnovers.
- Teague with a key block to ignite the big second half run. Flo Thamba making his two free throws also a positive.
Needs Work:
- Rebounds ended up only 37-34 in OSU’s favor but the Bears were down 23-12 in rebounding at half and got dominated in the paint early in the game. A lot of ball watching going on.
- Complacency in first half against a team missing two of their top 6 players. OSU brought the fight.
- Interior defense has to get better. Too many dunks, lay-ups and put backs. Plenty to work on before KSU and Auburn.
