Baylor Basketball Recruiting
BREAKING: Baylor lands four-star 2018 MBB pledge
Baylor basketball received an impact commitment on Tuesday evening from Matthew Mayer for the 2018 class. Mayer is a 6-foot-7, 195-pound forward from Austin Westlake High School.
A high-priority recruit for Scott Drew, Mayer is a versatile forward known as a great shooter from the outside but can also put the ball on the floor and attack the rim and distribute. He has a high ceiling.
Mayer plays for the Houston Hoops on the Nike circuit for AAU action where he averges 9 points and 4 rebounds while shooting 48 percent from the field, 42 percent from deep, and 77 percent from the line during EYBL action.
This is Baylor's third commitment for the 2018 class as Mayer joins fellow 2018 prospect Jeremiah Gambrell and have received a commitment from the preseason Ivy League player of the year in point guard Makai Mason who will only have one season in Waco as a graduate senior.
Stay tuned to Sicem365 this weekend where there could be more good news coming on the basketball commitment front.
