Baylor Basketball
Postgame Takeaways: #3 Baylor 81, #17 OSU 70
#3 Baylor (20-1; 12-1) takes down #17 Oklahoma State (17-7; 10-7) 81-70 in Waco. The Big12 Champion Baylor Bears have one more game in Waco this season- Texas Tech on Sunday March 7th at 3pm CST.
Positives
- Great composure to sweep the Cowboys, a hot basketball team that had won 5 straight before the Bears beat them.
- Butler, Mitchell, Teague, Mayer were all terrific. Flagler and Vital gave important contributions as well.
- Defensive rebounding- holding OSU to 7 offensive rebounds.
- Making 8 straight free throws down the stretch
- MaCio Teague one of his best games in a Baylor uniform- did everything well. Great interior passer.
- Explosiveness from Butler going to the rim, giving future opponents another thing to worry about.
- 11 steals is terrific
Needs Work
- Got a little sloppy at times after building a double digit lead. Need to put teams away when the opportunity is there.
- Need better contributions from the bigs- Thamba and Jonathan didn’t have two of their better games.
- Defensively you would love to see the Bears hold teams under 1 point per possession. OSU was at 1.01.
- 14 turnovers, need to be under 10.
