WV was really good tonight shooting, especially from 3. We pushed them, but got a little out of control when we had a chance to really close the gap in the last 3 minutes. They earned it tonight.

Turnovers BU 15 WVU 7 - too much to overcome. BU comes back in 4Q but 21 points just too much. Cohen / Mompremier need to not be such offensively liabilities. would have liked to see more Lauren Cox shooting from the high post as well. Kim's switch to the zone worked well, just too little too late.

Maybe a good wake-up call for Lady Bears.

Agreed, would have liked to see Cox at the FT line on the high/low, but just didn't work out tonight.

8 more turnovers, a tech, 10 of 15 from the line, and gave up 11 3s, 14 offensive boards, and 8 extra FTs.

Just not their night.

ZERO points from our bench: Cohen, Mompremier, Cox & Cave were all AWFUL tonight unfortunately.

Match that with an amazing performance from their shooting guard and some luck and we went down.

Cox was terrible in the tourney, and not much good before that. Looked like she was starting to come into her own midway through conference, then she seemed to lose confidence and regressed. Not sure what to think about her.

After all the winning this last weekend, this was due, I guess, huh?

Lady Bears are not invincible. They are plenty good to make the final four and get to the final game. UCONN, however, appears to be invincible.

The version of the Lady Bears that we saw tonight was the team that lost to Texas in Waco. They are vulnerable to teams that have enough size to prevent their domination of the boards and all the second chance points that they normally get. These teams concede the midrange shot and pack it in to stop Brown in the deep paint.
We could not hit the mid range shots and that is where we missed Alexis Jones, because she is a fine scorer from fifteen to eighteen feet, and that shot was there all evening.

WVU was especially hot from the arc in the first half, and our offense just did not function well enough to offset their shooting. The third quarter was a disaster, as Mulkey went to her bench and they gave it up. Kristy was very good for much of the game, but got out of control a few times in her effort to drive and finish, something that should be a strength for her but seemingly has been troublesome for her this season. She is above average but not a knock down free throw shooter, an area that she can improve on next year.

I was disappointed in Cohen tonight. She was tentative and indecisive, and not as effective at either end as we are used to seeing. I give WVU credit for playing exceptionally well, but Baylor did not come out of the dressing room ready to play at a high level, and playing from behind is something that is hard for a team that tends to turn the ball over as much as they do and does not shoot the three point shot well under pressure. They will be better in the NCAA Tournament, but I am less confident now as I was prior to this game that the Lady Bears will make the Final Four. Jones may be the difference when she returns, but we will have to wait and see as to that.

My mom and I were saying the same thing this weekend. Cox needs to get back to midseason form. Right now, too many fouls, too many missed shots. And too many lapses on defense.

She's a freshman, I'll give her a pass. Her midseason play was promising.

I agree, I don't have as high an expectation on freshmen, especially bigs. If she improves like Brown this year over last, she'll be fine.

... yep and she most liked will improve plus she's got a nice outside shot

Just needs consistent confidence

As she matures I believe you'll find that she can play almost any position on the court. With bigs, it's my observation that the more experienced players typically own the young players in the paint. Brittany Griner v Tina Charles in the NCAA tournament a great case in point.
