There is always a role player or starter who steps up in an NCAA game when a team wins. Who will that be today outside of our star Motley?

I hope it's Ish. He has a serious size advantage against the guy guarding him. Hopefully we get 12+ Pts and 7+Reb and 4+ assts from him today. It could be a number of our guys but as we all know one of our guards needs to break out of their slump.

It's the start of Day 2 and we haven't been eliminated yet. That's already an improvement over the last 2 years.

NMSU is effectively a 4-man team that plays 8. they don't get much from Taylor, Wilkins, or Haley in the way of efficiency. the FR Haley is especially bad and needs to be pressured relentlessly if he plays significantly. he has a putrid 83.1 Ortg and a shockingly awful 32.3% turnover rate (how do you turn it over nearly 1 in every 3 touches? lol). he only played 8 minutes in their last game tho

Ellis is the wild card off the bench, from looking at recent box scores. has only appeared in 15 games and played in 9.3% of minutes, but his minutes picked up in mid-February and he has good efficiency #s in a small sample lately. he will shoot the 3, he is 15-38 in his last 9 games.

Huggins is their only consistent 3-point threat, so we should see a steady diet of zone today. Baker loves to shoot them and could get hot tho, but he mostly will try to create.

Ish needs to lock down Jones and keep him off the glass. he's versatile and active. can't shoot from outside tho

Chuha is a nice player that rebounds well and is great at drawing fouls. zone needs to stay aware of him at all times, and get a body on him when shots go up.

this team is bad from 3 and very good from 2, so the zone should be effective. I like the match-up for us.

Really long winded way of saying NMSU sucks and we should annihilate them. I knew you'd see it my way.

Jo travels (twice) on the first possession, but then quickly atones by erasing a shot near the rim.

Motley denied at the rim

Jo with another block, ball to NMSU

they score down low. 2-0 Ags

Manu airballs a floater

Of course we start with a turnover and then a blocked shot. 2 things we're really good at.

bad pass turnover on NMSU

Jo puts it on the floor and then hits a baby hook, 2-2

Ish blocks a 3... 3rd for Baylor already (NMSU one of best offenses at not being blocked)

they score on the block over Jo, was Chuha. 4-2

Playing tentative. Getting open shots, but hesitant to take them.

Motley called for a moving screen, pretty weak call.

Baker short floater. 6-2 Ags 16:45

Jake open 3 in and out, Jo rebound, fouled and will shoot

Gonna be one of those days (tacky "never called unless you're wearing a Baylor jersey foul on Motley).

I hate referees.

We need our guards to step up and start getting some shots since they are packing the lane against Motley. Freeman should be able to tear these guys up

Man we look uptight on both on ends of the floor. And why is Motley sitting and not Jo?
