This is part three of my Baylor-Utah preview covering the scheme used by the Utah Utes. Part One covered the roster, and Part Two covered statistical strength.

Utah is going to be very good if they can return the offense to where it was the last time they had Cam Rising under center. The Baylor defense has a much tougher task than last year’s Utah matchup.

Kyle Whittingham’s Utah program is a great example of a program with a good eye for talent and a strong ability to develop it.

The hire of new offensive coordinator Jake Spavital was the story of Baylor’s offseason.

Tarleton State jumped up a classification in 2020 and has spent that time reclassifying ... and posting three winning seasons including a 2023 campaign that went 8-3 and possibly might have been a playoff squad last year if not for reclassifying rules.

Brown is a very solid gameday coach who has successfully bounced back from the disappointment of 2022 and has done so with arguably less talent on the roster. Not an easy task but he’s doing it.
