Baylor baseball (20-8) extended its midweek winning streak to seven games with a walk-off 3-2 win over Houston Christian (17-9) on Tuesday night at Baylor Ballpark.
Over the weekend, Baylor baseball (19-8, 4-5) traveled to the Grand Canyon State and won two of three games over No. 23 Arizona, marking the first time since 2021 that the Bears had won a road series over a ranked opponent.
For the second time this season, head coach Mitch Thompson’s Bears finished the week with a 3-1 winning record. Over the weekend, Baylor took down the Cincinnati Bearcats in a three-game set.
Despite not having everyone available, Baylor had arguably their best defensive performance of the season. The Bear’s were suffocating in the half court forcing 25 turnovers that resulted in 27 points.
After taking their talents to the Gulf Coast Showcase, No. 21 Baylor returns to the Ferrell Center for a showdown with HCU. As we inch closer to the 2:00 p.m. tip-off, here is the 1-3-1 on today’s matchup between the Bears and Huskies.
“We have to be tougher. We’ve lost two games where we’ve given up too many offensive rebounds down the stretch when you look at Maryland and Michigan,” said Collen. “Some of those were dead-ball rebounds where we couldn’t squeeze it.”
