For that matter the most glaring contradiction is that if every human already has it, how does getting bitten or being exposed again otherwise make it fatal within hours or a matter of days?
This is so true.

One of the writers (not sure if comics or show) once said that the bite carries a rapid acting virus/infection and that is what kills you.

Which is still a contradiction because again that virus would have to be part of the infection already and thus making ANY wound deadly. Because then how would someone who dies but isn't bitten have that part of the infection?

Could be like HIV/AIDS. They are not one in the same, but one has to be contracted to cause the other.
They answered that in Atlanta CDC. Everybody has it and becomes a zombie upon death. Now, the fever/death from a bite/blood/other bodily fluids is another subject. Blood splatter and contaminated knives has been answered. The cannibals were very worried about consuming fever/death infected flesh.
I know that. What I'm saying is, it's like how HIV can advance into full blown AIDS, zombie virus can expedite from bodily hosting during life to full-blown status with a bite or scratch. or something. Was still on first cup of coffee when I posted that
Mr. Treehorn treats objects like women, man.

Coffee or no, the problem with logic is with the show runner (they changed a few years ago, right?). At this stage of low technology, I would laugh at some big discovery by Eugene that fluids from a certain gland are super fueled with the death virus.

I have the answers to all of your questions.

Ready for it?

Here we go.

IT IS A TV SHOW.

That's it.

They can write it however they want. It has no basis in reality.

I'm trying to figure out how in the hell Morgan fits into Fear the Walking Dead. Morgan was in Atlanta at the beginning of all of this.

Also what is with the helicopter?

Morgan leaves and makes his way to Texas where the FTWD group was headed with the motorcycle gang, but ended up being washed through the dam after killing the biker gang.

That would make sense if FTWD was not about 8 years prior to the time period we are in on WD.

I was thinking the cross over would involve Abraham's group as they originated in Houston. To fit Morgan in with the FTWD characters the cross over would have to occur on WD with some characters from FTWD several years in the future from where we are on that show.

It would be the after the 2nd encounter of Morgan. When Carl went to the restaurant/bar to get the family photo. Not sure if that was before or after the prison. After I think, as I think his mom was dead.

That still doesnt make sense to me as to how one would integrate some characters from Fear with encounters with Morgan all the way over in Atlanta.

And who was in the helicopter?
PartyBear

Yeah it takes a special skill set to fly a plane or copter. That isnt something almost all adults know how to do like operate a car. In otherwords a random dude cant just hot wire a helicopter and use it for transportation. After several years of non usage all these means of transportation would be about useleless by this point.

Negan's mystery hitchhiker ...

I wonder if it is the lady that got away during the Dwight ambush/shootout.

It will be interesting to see if Dwight and/or Simon get a date night with Lucille.

I'm thinking it is the lady from the ambush. Could be someone long presumed dead by the audience who was once with Rick's group who doesnt know Negan at all and just accepted a ride with him.

Nope, was the blonde that shot Dwight and he's about done for now that she's returned.

Simon sitting out there on the fence was pretty nice to see.

The end with Maggie didn't make sense with her meeting with Jesus and Darrel. Are they talking about taking out all 3 Rick, Michonne and Negen? Suddenly Jesus the pacifist is part of something like that? Even if it is just about killing Negen?

Also I really don't get how Morgan catches up with the group from Fear the Walking Dead. Has about 10 years lapsed from the end of last season to this season's premier of that show? If not nothing makes sense about the time issue.

1. Twin brother. They do it on soaps all the time.
2. Mission Impossible mask.
3. Flashback scene. Allows Hollywood writers to defy physics, logic, etc.

1. Yeah, that's just writers trying to extend their paychecks. Darryl turning on Rick? Good luck with that.

2. Morgan started a car with a full tank of gas, drove it West from Virginia until it ran out, then walked and ran the rest to get to Texas. Then the other crew from FTWD ambushed them. Supposed to be another flashback from the dam breaking until now.

I don't think that she wants to take out Rick and Michone. I think (hope) that she wants them out of the way so that they can kill Negen.

If I understand correctly, it's been about 3.5 years since the outbreak. The show couldn't stop the actor playing Carl from aging.

Apparently, the gap between Fear's season finale and Morgan and his new "people" is about a year. Morgan will continue on with Fear.

I believe that we are going to leap forward in time on TWD about a year or two. Maggie and (I predict her new love interest) Alden build a new community with the "Key to the Future" during the gap. Apparently this is way to freshen up the show and circle the waters again to a pre-shark jump state.

So all that has happened in TWD happened over the same brief time period we have been exposed to in FTWD? All this traveling across the country by foot essentially, all these battles and stops along the way, not to mention Ricks coma that lasted well into post apocalypse? All occurred within 3 years?

I was contemplating the same issues so I read a few websites.

  • Rick's coma lasted about 44 days.
  • The 3.5 years is estimated from Judith's gestation/aging.

I'm not an apologist, I'm just restating what I read. I'm sure I could find more out from the TWD nerd sites.
PartyBear
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I understand you aren't apologizing for them. I just think the time issue has become pretty unrealistic (I know it's a show). But still I find it hard to believe the same time period covered by Fear so far coincides with all that has happened in TWD. Hell Rick sure has aged for 3 1/2 years . The make up artist deliberately give him a gray beard and hair. So I don't think that is just Andrew Lincoln's aging.

Folks tend to gray when they are under immense amounts of stress. It can happen quickly too.

I just think this cross over deal should not have been done unless it involved a prequel more or less to some characters we know or knew on Walking Dead.

Right now Fear is actualy a year later P.A. (Post Apocalypse) than where we are with the Walking Dead characters. As I would guess it would take almost a year to walk to Texas from the DC area in a Walker infested and a various tribe littered former US.

Anyone watching the new season of Fear the Walking Dead? This show has become weird. It is like had Walking Dead gone from the season finale way back when they left Hershel's farm in Georgia immediately to a season when they are in Virginia battling Negen as the next season.

I might have misunderstood your timeline comment; however, with Morgan there, they are in the present.

It appears that the flashbacks told to camera girl are all post-baseball stadium death-event. Apparently the only survivors were Alycia, Nick, Morgan, and Luciana. Well, Nick is dead, now.

I can only surmise that Madison, Jenna Elfman's character, and Coleman's man-friend are all dead.

I can understand killing Nick. Taking our Madison is essentially saying that they are taking the show in another direction. Risky, but killing her is akin to killing off Rick. Are there enough strong characters for the show to survive?

PartyBear
How long do you want to ignore this user?
It could be we the viewer and the characters we have seen are assuming the one's you mentioned (except Nick) are dead and they are discovered later to be alive somewhere else. Nevertheless there is a significant jump in time and geopraphy as well from where they were in the season finale to where they are now or even to where they are remembering back to (the baseball diamond compound).
cowboycwr
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Both shows are dead (pun intended).

Rick is going to leave the show. Maggie is leaving.

And somehow Shane is coming back.

Talk about jumping the shark.

Neither one will last more than maybe 2 seasons at this rate. Ratings are already falling and will continue to fall. Now you are killing off or otherwise removing the main character of the show??? Sounds like the end of the series to me.
