Looking Glass actually had a minor second hit in 1973. "Jimmy Loves Mary Anne" reached #33 a year after Brandy.

Nope. Their first hit in 1974 was If You Want to Get to Heaven You've Got to Raise a Little Hell.

Jackie Blue was 1975.

She was at Waco Hall in 1981 or 1982 for a Word Music evening show headlined by BJ Thomas.

Ok, I have a personal connection with this one. This is by a group from Houston called a Fun & Games (previously Fun & Games Commission). The lead singer was a guy named Sam Irwin. After this record he and I worked together at KILT radio in Houston. He was in my first wedding and we are still close friends 46 years down the road. (We spoke last week). We ended up being partners in a restaurant in Austin called Birraporetti's.

Many of you have seen him perform with the Austin band he has had since 1983 called Duck Soup. He's the bald guy with glasses. They've played all over the country and the PGA tour but never had a hit record. But no regrets.

Anyway here is his one hit. The hook is the way he pronounces "taste-ah".

KILT was THE radio station back in high school. I grew up in Conroe and back then we lost the signal at sundown and switched over to WLS in Chicago and listened to Dick Biondi.

Here's another one hit wonder...

I actually saw Wall of Voodoo live at a club show back in the early 80s. Their frontman, Stan Ridgeway, had a modest solo career after the band broke up.

True about the signal at night. It dropped from 50,000 to 500 Watts after sundown. Also, KILT's signal was aimed at the Gulf of Mexico so it was tough to reach any place north even in the daytime. In those days there was nothing north of Houston except pine trees.
