Since I started this, let me take some of the cream off the top
As an academic exercise, "Manos - The Hands of Fate" is largely regarded as the worst movie ever assembled.
Just because someone had to mention it. I'm not positive, in this modern era, it still legitimately holds that title. It was put together on a bet. An insurance manager told his actor buddy that acting wasn't hard, and he could make a movie himself with no experience. His friend took that bet.
The film stars the insurance agent and his family (including the dog). The actor ended up spotting his friend the use of a camera crew and editor, just to get things rolling.
The results are barely usable. They shot when they could, and it was windy. Most of the outdoor shots have high wind noise. A lot of dialog had to be overdubbed in order to be audible, though God knows why.
We've seen that it's possible to shoot a credible movie with an iPhone. When using celluloid, this was, well, not.

I'm considering movies that just didn't hit what they aimed for. I'm not considering the B-reels that knew they were throwaways. In that spirit:
Here's a flick that, if you describe it, should have been epic. Instead, it boils down to Tom Cruise being upset that his wife thought about how hot it would be to have sex with this guy she saw. Then he wanders around New York. We're supposed to believe that Tom Cruise is the only guy who can't find a hooker in New York.
Bad plot lines. Fantastic actors who can't keep a scene paced. Incomprehensible editing. All this as a last work from a legendary director. Any movie with Nicole Kidman's backside and that many bewbs would be an instant win, but this one is still 2.5 hours of unwatchable.

Batman & Robin and the movie battlefield earth are some seriously bad movies...

Beg to difffer on Showgirls. I have watched it on Netflicks several times. Eyes Wide Shut was funny. I dont think it was supposed to be..
